For Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort, the decision was difficult. He noted, “Decisions like this are never easy. Ultimately, we have to do what is best for our football team and that will always be the driving factor. We are extremely grateful to Marvin for what he has contributed to our organization and wish him the very best as he moves forward in his career.”

The trade also reunited Harrison with his former Ohio State quarterback, C.J. Stroud, now in Houston. Stroud said, “He's a dynamic playmaker, somebody who runs great routes, someone who can catch really any ball, and I'm just super excited to get with him. I loved him in college. He's probably the hardest worker I've ever been around in my life.”

” Anderson added, “Super athletic, dynamic wide receiver, can do a lot.

In Houston, the excitement was palpable. Head coach DeMeco Ryans, quarterback C.J. Stroud, and defensive end Will Anderson Jr. expressed enthusiasm about adding the dynamic playmaker following a recent win against the Tennessee Titans. Ryans noted, “We're excited to get a really good player to our team. You want good players, it has to cost whatever it is. The guy is a really good player, so we're excited to get him here.” Anderson added, “Super athletic, dynamic wide receiver, can do a lot. I'm excited to have him here. It's going to be big. I can't wait to see what he does.”

The trade compensation saw the Texans send a 2027 second-round pick and a sixth-round pick to Arizona while receiving a seventh-round pick in return. The Houston Texans officially announced the acquisition, welcoming Harrison to H‑Town with his own words: “What's up, H-Town! It's Marvin Harrison Jr. here, I'm super excited to get to work and be a part of a great organization.”

Teammates reflected on the personal side, noting that losing a player of his caliber is tough. They acknowledged that outside of football, he meant a lot to the locker room and wished him the best on whatever he has coming up next.
