The Supreme Court of India has closed a batch of petitions seeking a court-monitored investigation into financial irregularities linked to the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The decision follows the filing of a charge sheet by the Uttar Pradesh government, which detailed allegations of theft during donation counting and suspicious property transactions by accused employees.

The petitions, filed by advocate Narendra Kumar Goswami, Ajay Kumar Rai, Sudhakar Singh, and the Hindu Dharma Parishad, had pressed for a formal probe into the matter. However, the Supreme Court determined that the case should now proceed before the competent trial court, as the state government had taken legal action.
The Uttar Pradesh government’s charge sheet revealed that embezzlement occurred during the counting process, with accused individuals misappropriating funds. While the Supreme Court did not adjudicate the allegations, it acknowledged public interest concerns and permitted the petitioners to assist the judicial magistrate during trial proceedings.
