Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Pune Metro’s Pink Line (Line 3), a ₹8,300 crore project spanning 23 km from Maan to District Court. This corridor aims to improve connectivity between Hinjewadi IT hub and Shivajinagar, benefiting commuters, including IT professionals. The Pink Line is part of broader efforts to modernize urban transport in Pune.

During the event, Modi laid the foundation for four new metro corridors in Phase-II, totaling ₹21,800 crore. These projects—Lines 2A, 2B, 4, and 4A—will expand Pune’s metro network, reducing traffic congestion and improving mobility across key residential, commercial, and IT hubs. The expansion reflects India’s growing metro network, which expanded from 248 km in 2014 to over 1,200 km by recent years.
