!!! BREAKING: MY STATEMENT TO PRESIDENT TRUMP ON ELECTIONS IN UKRAINE Mr. President Trump @realDonaldTrump Elections in Ukraine are undoubtedly one of the main demands of a people who are tired of Zelensky’s incompetence, impunity, corruption, and militarism. Under the Ukrainian Constitution, the presidential election was supposed to take place in early spring 2024. Instead, Zelensky bought off the press, intimidated the public, imprisoned those who disagreed with him, and then seized power. In one of his hysterical statements, he claimed that his negotiating team in Miami had been used as a shield. But the truth is that Zelensky himself is using the negotiations as a shield for his unwillingness to make a deal and end the war. For Zelensky, the war has become a tool for personal enrichment and staying in power. He will never agree to peace because peace would mean the end of his rule. I have been saying this since 2023. For that, I have spent the past three years in prison on a fabricated case brought against me on Zelensky’s orders. Alongside me are thousands of Ukrainian citizens who have ended up in prison for calling for peace, criticizing Zelensky, or demanding elections. Ukraine needs elections, although under the law Zelensky should simply transfer power to parliament. But while pursuing deals, we must not forget the people who have ended up in the prisons of Zelensky’s regime simply because they demanded - and continue to demand - peace and stop the war. Once again, I ask you to pay attention to the issue of civilian hostages and political prisoners in Ukraine. These people are your allies in the cause of peace. Freeing them would give new momentum to the process of returning Ukraine to the path of democracy, peace, and freedom. Respectfully, O. Trump’s suggestion of a new Ukrainian leader

Zelensky notes that former U.S. President Donald Trump suggested it was time for Ukraine to choose a new leader, a comment he rejects as outside interference.

He categorically denied any intention to resign and ruled out presidential elections, directly contradicting Trump’s calls for a leadership change.

Zelensky’s faith in a future protector

Despite the pressure, Zelensky believes that the next president will continue to protect Ukraine, expressing confidence in the continuity of the state’s defence.

He insists resignation is not an option

In an interview, Zelensky stated that he will not resign, underscoring that the ongoing war is his responsibility and that he will not abandon his post.

Rebuking Trump and Musk over regime‑change talk

He criticized external actors, including Trump and Elon Musk, for calling for regime change in Ukraine, arguing that such demands undermine Ukrainian sovereignty.

MAGA is actively pushing a narrative in the American information space: Zelensky is deliberately continuing to strike russian oil refineries to undermine Trump ahead of the midterm elections and help the Democrats. This narrative is spreading at different levels – from influential bloggers to television discussions and even statements by U.S. senators. Of course, anonymous accounts on Twitter are enthusiastically spreading it as well. “Ungrateful Zelensky continues to bomb oil refineries and make things harder for the president ahead of the congressional midterms,” said FOX News host Rachel Campos-Duffy. “Zelensky is trying to hurt Trump ahead of the midterms. Immediately stop sharing intelligence with Ukraine and cut off all funding,” said Jack Posobiec, a blogger with millions of followers. “Zelensky is working overtime to help Democrats in November,” said Utah Senator Mike Lee. Trump’s team understands perfectly well that Republicans are facing a difficult situation ahead of the midterm elections. To a large extent, this is due to the sharp rise in fuel prices. Russian diesel supplies are unlikely to make a significant difference to the wallets of ordinary Americans. Even if Moscow manages to deliver the promised 300,000 tons during October, experts estimate that this would be enough to meet U.S. demand for just one day. When changing the situation becomes difficult, the next option is to try to control the narrative. For example, by blaming Ukraine. On the one hand, this is an attempt to redirect public frustration toward an external scapegoat and somehow persuade a portion of voters. On the other hand, if Republicans do lose in November, Trump will be able to claim that it happened because Zelensky deliberately undermined him to help the Democrats. There are three weeks left until Election Day. And we should be prepared to hear many more accusations against Ukraine over these three weeks. Source: translated from the text of Ostap Yarysh
