On October 19, 2026, gunfire shattered the uneasy quiet of Mumbai’s entertainment industry. A shooting targeted the vehicle of actor Tiger Shroff, marking a dramatic escalation in violent threats directed at Bollywood figures. Almost simultaneously, at a football field in Sanje Juhu, another violent act unfolded: a performer was shot on the field and rushed to the hospital for treatment. As the Mumbai Police moved to secure both locations, the incidents revealed a complex web of organized violence reaching far beyond the city's borders.

A Voice Across the Atlantic

Shortly after the attack, a viral audio message began circulating across digital platforms, purportedly originating from the United States. In the recording, a man identifying himself as Anil Pandit claimed responsibility for the firing incident on Shroff’s vehicle. Pandit, originally from Panipat in Haryana, had migrated to the United States in 2024 through an illegal pathway known as the "Donkey Route."

Upon arriving in America, Pandit allegedly aligned himself with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, operating under the direction of Hari Chand Jat, alias Harry Boxer—a figure who had been managing US-based gang operations since 2022. Introducing himself in the audio message, Pandit declared: "Ram Ram to all brothers. I am Anil Pandit, Lawrence Bishnoi's younger brother."

Moving decisively on October 19, 2026, law enforcement arrested three accused individuals directly linked to the shooting targeting Tiger Shroff.

Ideological Demands and Broader Threats

The viral recording extended beyond a simple confession, laying out specific demands and ideological grievances. Pandit issued direct warnings to anyone associated with film icon Salman Khan, demanding an apology from Khan to the Bishnoi community over a blackbuck poaching dispute.

"As long as Salman Khan does not apologize, we will not leave him alone," Pandit warned in the audio, expanding his threats to include Khan’s family. He also attacked the financial underpinnings of the Hindi film industry, claiming: "All these actors of our country make movies with money from that dog Dawood sitting in Pakistan-Dubai." While the recording spread rapidly online, security agencies and investigators noted that they have yet to officially verify Pandit's direct role or the authentic origin of the claims made in the audio.

Turf Battles and Tactical Arrests

While law enforcement parsed the international audio trail, Mumbai Police launched immediate operations on the ground. Investigating the gunfire at the Sanje Juhu football field, officers arrested Orwell, a member of the rival Lions gang. Orwell had reportedly been on the target list associated with the shoot, acknowledging his precarious situation by stating: "I was on the target list of the Tiger Shoot."

Police rapidly connected the Juhu shooting and the attack on Shroff’s car to broader efforts by organized crime groups to exert pressure in Mumbai, alongside their ongoing focus on Salman Khan. Moving decisively on October 19, 2026, law enforcement arrested three accused individuals directly linked to the shooting targeting Tiger Shroff.

They have obtained certain clues, based on which they are currently working, and specific individuals have already been identified. These people will be arrested very soon."

He added a stern warning to gang syndicates: "Regardless of the gang or the individual involved, no one will be spared. If anyone attempts to operate through such threats, the Mumbai Police knows exactly how to set them straight."

Pursuing Masterminds Across Borders

The Chief Minister emphasized that local foot soldiers involved in the plot had already been neutralized by local authorities. "Furthermore, we will track down their masterminds who remain in hiding and issue orders from afar," Fadnavis explained. "It is important to note that none of these individuals operate from within Maharashtra; those who do operate from within the state have already been arrested."

To reach the high-level organizers, Maharashtra authorities are turning to international legal mechanisms. Fadnavis confirmed that formal legal procedures are currently underway regarding custody requests for Lawrence Bishnoi.

"We have already sent the request and action is currently underway. That is why I said, no matter where their masterminds might be hiding, the due legal process must be followed," Fadnavis noted. "The Mumbai Police has demonstrated in the past that no matter where such perpetrators may be hiding in the world, the Mumbai Police will track them down."
