The 25% Cut and Its Numbers

The new dividend is $0.03 per share, down from the $0.04 that had been set in previous cycles. A simple arithmetic comparison shows a 25% reduction. This amount is the same as the one paid to shareholders of record on November 30, whose ex-dividend date is identical.

Market Response: Surging Shares, Selling Insiders

Although the news was a dividend cut, the stock’s intraday movement was notable. On the day the decision was released, 1,324,754 shares changed hands, well below the 2,322,899-share average volume. Against this backdrop, insiders sold shares, indicating a cautious stance. Yet, for many traders, the prospect of a lower payout was offset by expectations of future market shifts.

Strategy’s disclosure made it clear that November 30 is both the cut-off for ownership and the moment the dividend will be distributed.

Timing Is Everything: Ex-Dividend and Payment Dates

The ex-dividend and record dates are pivotal. Strategy’s disclosure made it clear that November 30 is both the cut-off for ownership and the moment the dividend will be distributed. For many institutional investors, aligning holdings to fall just before that date manages cash flow, while retail investors need to be careful not to be left holding stock without the intended payout.

🔥LATEST: Strategy wants to pay DIVIDENDS DAILY on STRF, STRC, STRK and STRD. The board is putting the proposal to a shareholder vote on October 28. If approved: - Every calendar day becomes a dividend record date - Declared dividends are paid the next business day - Dividend rates and total obligations stay unchanged STRC could begin daily payouts on November 2, 2026, with STRF, STRK, and STRD following from January 4, 2027. This does NOT increase the dividend. It only changes how often holders get paid. Importantly, holders of these preferred shares do NOT vote on the proposal. The changes would take effect after approval and Strategy’s Delaware filing.

Who’s Holding It Now?

Not only did insiders offload shares, but an institutional investor stepped up, adding a fresh stake to its holdings. Meanwhile, a director of the company retains 28,406 shares—a sizeable personal position that signals confidence in the firm’s long-term direction despite the dividend cut.

Why the Cut Matters: Cash Flow and Valuation

A 25% reduction in the dividend has a two-fold effect. Cash-flow-wise, the company retains more capital that can be deployed for operations, research, or debt reduction. From a valuation lens, preferred shareholders—often valuing the stock based on expected income—will see the price risk increase: lower steady income makes the asset less attractive, potentially pushing the stock’s price downward unless offset by external factors.

Bitcoin is the asset. Solana is the infrastructure.

Looking Forward

As Strategy Inc moves through the fiscal landscape, investors will watch closely for the next cycle’s dividend declaration. The answer lies in the intersection of corporate earnings and strategic capital allocation. Meanwhile, those holding these preferred shares are reminded that sometimes reducing income can be a sign that a firm is positioning itself for resilience.
