Reported Screen Issues

Customers have reported screen cracking along the center crease shortly after purchase. More than half a dozen customers verified by Bloomberg News have reported device damage. Reports indicate that unfolding the device produces a crunching sound, followed by failure of the inner display.

One customer, Tom Battle, described the experience: "I went to unfold it, and it felt stuck/harder/slower to open than usual. And when I opened it, it had the lines on the screen." Another user, Jonathan King, noted: "I had all intent to post a positive review of my Duo experience today, until it happened to me. The smaller outer screen works just fine, but the inner screen is now unusable."

Reports indicate that unfolding the device produces a crunching sound, followed by failure of the inner display.

Apple's Response

Apple has acknowledged the issue in a statement, saying it is "aware of an issue impacting the inner display on a small number of iPhone Duo units." The company stated that only a small subset of devices are impacted by the defect.

Support for Users

For those experiencing problems, Apple has provided guidance: "If users experience issues with their iPhone Duo display, they should contact AppleCare for a replacement." The company has spent more than a decade developing the device.
