The trial in Aix-en-Provence following a December 2020 triple murder in Marseille has become a stage for profound sorrow and unexpected revelations. In November 2026, mothers who had lost sons in the killings stood before the judge and spoke with such intensity that two of the five accused men broke their silence.

Among the mothers was Ouassila Benhmadi‑Kessaci, who had lost two sons, Brahim and Mehdi. Her testimony, delivered with deep grief, focused on the loss of her children and the impact on her family. She also mentioned her daughter, who was one year old at the time of Brahim’s death.
The mothers’ raw accounts prompted Ahmed Zakaria Bensaci to confess to his role in the crime. In his statement he named Amine Oualane as the shooter and Karim Harrat as the mastermind behind the triple murder. He also identified Malik Kariba—known as the butcher—as the person who dismembered a body. These confessions added new details to a case that had already been marked by brutality and secrecy.

Amine Oualane, a figure linked to the DZ Mafia, was identified by Bensaci as the shooter. Both Oualane and Harrat later claimed to deny any involvement. The case, already complex, now included a network of three individuals from whom the accused drew their actions.
The verdict for the case was originally scheduled for November 6th but may be postponed to November 13th as the court continues to examine the revelations.
The triple murder, which occurred in December 2020 amid a feud among drug traffickers, has exposed not only the brutality of criminal violence but also the enduring strength of familial love and the relentless pursuit of justice in the face of profound loss.
