The Bombay High Court has adjourned the case regarding the deportation notice issued to actor Imran Khan by the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO). The court directed that the notice, which originally required Khan to leave India by October 28, be kept on hold until November 2. This decision allows Khan more time to pursue his petition to quash the notice and seek an interim stay.

Imran Khan, a US citizen who has lived in India since childhood, faced the FRRO notice following a complaint filed by BJP leader Kirit Somaiya regarding alleged public-order infractions. During the proceedings, Khan's counsel highlighted the impending October 28 deadline, leading the bench to confirm that no coercive steps would be taken against him while the matter is adjourned. Additionally, the FRRO has issued a show-cause notice under Section 7D concerning the cancellation of Khan's Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) status, a matter which is not currently challenged in his petition.
The hearing was initially delayed due to a jurisdiction objection. With the court ordering the impugned notice to stay in abeyance, the case is scheduled to be heard again on November 2.
