On 15 October 2026 Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş announced that the Ministry of Family and Social Services had begun depositing 7.8 billion lira in Home Care Assistance payments into the accounts of eligible citizens. She said the distribution had started that day and emphasized the importance of home care services for disabled individuals and their families.

The aid is directed at fully dependent citizens and their families. According to the ministry, 492,000 citizens currently benefit from the Home Care Assistance program. These are people who are classified as fully dependent and who receive the monthly payment to help cover the costs of care while remaining in their family environment.
Each eligible citizen receives a monthly payment of 15,755 lira. This amount is the same for every beneficiary and totals 7.8 billion lira when multiplied by the 492,000 recipients. The ministry confirmed that the payment for this month has begun to be transferred to beneficiaries’ accounts.
In announcing the payments, Minister Göktaş offered two statements that capture the government’s stance.
The Home Care Assistance program is not new. Minister Göktaş noted that the initiative has been in place since 2006. She described it as a family-oriented care service whose primary goal is to support disabled individuals so they can continue living with their relatives.
In announcing the payments, Minister Göktaş offered two statements that capture the government’s stance. First, she said, "We prioritize home care service for disabled individuals to preserve family integrity. With this aid we support disabled individuals to remain in their living environment, together with their family or close relatives, thereby protecting and strengthening family unity." Second, she affirmed, "The Home Care Assistance has been implemented since 2006." These remarks underline the administration’s view that the program strengthens family bonds while delivering economic relief.
As of 15 October 2026 the transfer of the 7.8 billion lira is underway, delivering the prescribed 15,755 lira to each of the 492,000 beneficiaries. The ministry frames the move as both an economic support measure and a way to support family unity.
