For the people of Andhra Pradesh, the arrival of Cyclone Arnab brought with it a trail of destruction and chaos. The cyclone's fury left many families devastated, struggling to cope with the loss of loved ones and property. In the face of such adversity, the role of the government becomes crucial in providing support and relief to those affected.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of Andhra Pradesh has been at the forefront of the state's response to the crisis. In a move aimed at providing immediate relief to the victims' families, CM Naidu announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh per family. This decision is a testament to the government's commitment to supporting those in need. The compensation is part of a broader relief package that includes food and financial assistance, designed to help families get back on their feet.
Another major push for Andhra Pradesh’s connectivity under the NDA’s double-engine, bullet-train Sarkar! The Union Cabinet approved the 3rd & 4th railway lines on the Renigunta–Arakkonam section, with 46 km in AP covering Tirupati & Chittoor districts, at a cost of ₹1,157 crore. This will ease congestion, improve train punctuality and strengthen connectivity to Tirupati, benefiting both pilgrims and passengers while boosting freight movement. My sincere thanks to Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji and Railway Minister Shri @AshwiniVaishnaw Ji for this significant boost to AP’s rail infrastructure.
CM Naidu has also planned to visit the cyclone-affected regions, a move that underscores the government's resolve to understand the situation on the ground and provide targeted support. Scheduled to take place on 2026-10-28, the visit will provide the Chief Minister with a firsthand account of the damage caused by Cyclone Arnab. This will enable the government to refine its relief efforts, ensuring that aid reaches those who need it most.

As part of its efforts to assess the full extent of the damage, the Andhra Pradesh government will submit a preliminary damage assessment to the Centre. This report will play a critical role in determining the future course of relief efforts, helping to identify areas that require immediate attention and those that will need long-term support.
The situation in Andhra Pradesh has also prompted the Union Cabinet to take notice. An emergency meeting has been called to discuss the situation and potential measures to support the state. This level of involvement from the central government highlights the gravity of the situation and the need for a coordinated response to address the challenges posed by Cyclone Arnab.
As the people of Andhra Pradesh continue to grapple with the aftermath of Cyclone Arnab, the government's response has been marked by a sense of urgency and compassion. From announcing compensation for the victims' families to planning visits to the affected areas, the state government has demonstrated its commitment to providing relief and support. With the Union Cabinet also involved, there is hope that the combined efforts of the state and central governments will help mitigate the suffering of those affected and pave the way for rebuilding and recovery.
