In a move that promises to revolutionize travel in the region, the 52-kilometer Çeşmeli-Kızkalesi section of the Çeşmeli-Erdemli-Silifke-Taşucu Highway has been completed and will open to traffic at 00:01 on the night of October 18 to 19. This project, spearheaded by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, aims to reduce travel time from 2.5 hours in the summer to just 18 minutes, significantly easing congestion in Mersin and boosting the local economy through tourism and reduced travel costs.
