On 2026-10-13, law enforcement launched a simultaneous raid across 16 provinces targeting illegal betting and gambling activities. The operation was carried out by the Kocaeli Provincial Police Cyber Crimes Department, and the Gebze District Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation and released a report on the findings.

The Gebze District Public Prosecutor's Office, after a review by the Treasury Investigation Board, alleged that individuals used both personal and corporate bank accounts to send money to illegal betting platforms. The Treasury Investigation Board’s analysis showed that the movement of funds did not match the financial profiles of the account holders, suggesting the accounts were being used as conduits rather than for legitimate business.
Investigators examined 722,235 individual transactions that took place between 2023 and 2025. The total value of those transactions amounted to 6,235,761,905 Turkish lira. The Kocaeli Provincial Police Cyber Crimes Department reported that the same figure—6,235,761,905 TL—was processed through the accounts of the suspects during the same period.
Of the 37 identified, 34 were taken into custody during the provincial raids.
The cyber crimes unit identified 37 suspects who were linked to 11 different companies. These individuals were alleged to have facilitated the transfers of money to the illegal betting sites. Of the 37 identified, 34 were taken into custody during the provincial raids.
The coordinated operation resulted in the detention of 34 suspects. Authorities noted that one of the detained individuals was already serving a prison sentence for unrelated offenses, while another suspect was located abroad at the time of the raid and was not present for the arrest.
During the raids, police seized digital material. These items were among the evidence seized. In addition, officers found 5 grams of cannabis, 95 rounds of 9x19mm ammunition and 25 rounds of 7.65mm ammunition. These items were logged as part of the evidence collected from the suspects’ premises.
All major actions— the launch of the operation, the detention of the 34 suspects, the release of the prosecutor’s report, the announcement of the 37 suspects identified among 11 companies, the disclosure of the seized cannabis and ammunition, and the presentation of the transaction analysis—occurred on the same date, 2026-10-13. The prosecutor’s office issued its report on that day, summarizing the findings of the financial review.
